5 Wrestlers Who Could Be AEW's MAJOR Mystery Signing

Again: re-read those words.

Wight claims that AEW is set to announce the signing of a "Hall of Fame-worthy" talent. But there really aren't too many around. His class of "asset" is mostly tied to WWE Legends deals, and AEW already has access - in a better future - to the best of the seminal New Japan Pro Wrestling main event picture.

What if this is a bait-and-switch? What if that copy was circulated to him by the exceptional Pat McAfee, who absolutely would refer to himself in those hallowed tones, and pull it off?

Any threat of disappointment would be extinguished the very second Pat McAfee grabbed a microphone on Sunday and got over as the mega-heel he should be playing on Wednesdays. You'd resent the hell out of him, in the effective love-to-hate way, far more than you would the cheeky marketing.

He is interested, according to Cody Rhodes, who expressed as much on the pre-Dynamite media briefing - though the EVP rather likes to flex when he's in a jocular mood, so he might have just been breaking some balls. It would blacken the eye of NXT, but is AEW even interested in that these days?

Gauging by Matt Jackson's quality go-home promo, yes. Yes they are.
