5 Wrestlers Who Could Be AEW's MAJOR Mystery Signing

3. Batista

Christian AEW
WWE

A Twitter user going by 'Vandelli' noticed that Wight's flub - he said Evolution, not Revolution - might not have been a flub at all, but rather an easter egg hinting at the signing of Batista.

Batista has a strange relationship with WWE. He hasn't worked for another wrestling promotion, but he's not the homer type, either: he left in 2010, disillusioned with a product lacking completely in any edge. Despite returning in a part-time capacity for runs in 2014 and 2019, he never changed his mind. Probably because WWE never changed the product.

Speaking on Edge and Christian's podcast in 2018, he said:

"This is not a dig on anyone, but I just don’t feel that the product is as good as it used to be. Everybody was rockstars, man! They were real, live rockstars! They were real performers and everybody had kind of an edge to them."

He isn't Ric Flair, who has become quite Fedpilled in his later years. Perhaps that why Batista attacked him. His use of the word "real" there might suggest that he'd be bang up for the unscripted expression at AEW's core.

He was adamant in his response that he has definitely retired - but Edge denied that he was returning at the 2020 Royal Rumble, Brian Cage's wife said he hadn't signed with AEW last year, pro wrestlers literally lie for a living...
