5 Wrestlers Who Could Be AEW's MAJOR Mystery Signing

1. Christian

It's a long shot.

Christian is cleared (by WWE doctors) to compete. He looked fantastic at the Royal Rumble, and he worked at a level well beyond the carny smoke and mirrors deal that saw him put over Randy Orton - nominally - on RAW last year. He has the closest of connections tethering him to WWE - that being a revival of his legendary team with real-life best friend Edge, or perhaps even one last match against him - but he hasn't been seen since, weirdly. Perhaps WWE are waiting for the Edge Vs. Roman Reigns programme to sprawl - Christian Vs. Jey Uso would rule as a subplot-cum-WrestleMania opener - or perhaps Vince McMahon never lost that blue dot feelin'.

Moreover, he has jumped before, famously, to TNA in 2005. Precedent exists to inform the prediction.

Two notable AEW names, perhaps conspicuously, have talked up Christian big very recently. Jon Moxley praised his wrestling mind to Inside The Ropes just last month: "His brain and his execution, and his mind for wrestling is just like next-level. He's so good."

This sentiment was echoed by FTR's Dax Harwood on Twitter, and more can be read, perhaps, in his quick "change of mind". Entering full kayfabe mode, he went on to call Edge & Christian "overrated". These people will work any angle at all to drive interest in things that can't even happen. They are workers. But even if Edge is tied down, and he of course is, Tony Khan has proven himself exceptionally capable of creating awesome tag teams out of thin air.

Christian is most certainly an "asset".

Beyond Fightful's solid record-keeping, contract details in wrestling are murky and largely kept secret. But if Christian is tied to a Legends deal, they seem easier to get out of than a regular talent contract.

Probability: 30%

Final conclusion: F*ck knows. But that's the point! Buy AEW Revolution to find out.

Thanks for the cheque TK xx
