5 Wrestlers Who Could Be Saraya's Major Secret AEW Partner

2. Toni Storm

Saraya AEW
AEW

This might read as very harsh on Toni Storm, especially because she was framed as a caretaker and not the star she is with her excellent stewardship of the Women's Interim title, but this is the safe and - through zero fault of her own - possibly boring choice.

Storm is a superb worker who legitimised the Women's division with her wonderfully snug and explosive power game and tremendous crowd appeal - but she was cursed to both work a safe bet role and suffer in comparison to the organic crowd favourite Jamie Hayter. Were she to return to AEW in this context, it would further stigmatise her as the "Oh, that's nice, but still..." member of the division.

She deserves more, at just 27 years of age, than to be an ever-present safe pair of hands. She isn't Sam Allardyce, she's Toni Storm.

Great as she is, and as much as she deserves, she doesn't deserve mildly polite applause, and that is what she'd be in for in LA. The mystery debut can only be a debuting free agent, a wrestler returning from a long injury layoff, or a wrestler jumping from one promotion to another...
