5 Wrestling Dream Matches That Make Perfect Sense (And 5 That Don't)

5. DON'T - Matt Hardy Vs Brodie Lee

The Fiend Doink
AEW

When links between Matt Hardy and All Elite Wrestling became apparent shortly after his early-2020 WWE exit, speculation mounted that he would be The Dark Order's 'Exalted One'.

The linguistic tone suited how he spoke within the confines of his own universe, and the company even went to the trouble of assembling an acrostic poem for Twitter that hid his name in plain sight. It was all an enjoyable red herring ahead of the former Luke Harper's reimagining as Mr. Brodie Lee.

The two have since coexisted in All Elite Wrestling without incident, with Lee's leadership blossoming in reality and kayfabe. His emphatic TNT Championship victory over Cody put the group over as the most dominant force in the company, but they'd quietly become that too.

After contributing to the wildly entertaining Elite/Inner Circle Stadium Stampede build and match, Hardy floundered with Sammy Guavera in a snake-bit feud that saw him absorb some very real and very frightening injuries along the way. It was at this point discussion of this battle for control of the group dissolved - The Dark Order remains in rude health while Hardy's genuine wellbeing needs time off more than a discuss lariat to the throat.
