5 Wrestling Ring Rope Wreckages

1. Chris Hero Vs. Claudio Castagnoli - PWG All Star Weekend 8 (Night 1)

Chris Hero evidently has little luck when it comes to ring rope wreckages - but on this night, it was his former Kings Of Wrestling tag team partner who separated rope from turnbuckle.

Revving up to perform some sort of running dive - we never did find out which* - the future Cesaro dislodged the top rope and fell into a crumpled heap on the mat. His shocked facial expression was priceless - and this is the man who supposedly doesn't have the personality to grab the brass ring. WWE: Maybe if you actually allowed your performers to, you know, perform as themselves, you might see who can actually get themselves over. Just a hint.

The helpful Castagnoli then assisted the rather slow crew member to remove the top rope altogether - before he spotted his one time partner and opponent on the night subtly repositioning himself on the outside.

*We might not know what Castagnoli had originally intended, but we do know what he ended up doing; making the admittedly minimal jump over the second rope, Castagnoli crashed into Hero with a cross body block. The two men shared such telepathy that the whole thing almost, momentarily, looked planned. They then wrestled a match that was miles better than it had any right to be.

But hey, one's fat and the other has no personality. Sadly, such deft improvisation won't find itself on RAW anytime soon.
