5 WWE NXT Wrestlers Ready For The Main Roster (And 5 Who Should Stay Put)
8. Call Up - Raquel Gonzalez
In general, the women called up from NXT have fared a little better than the men, but there are no guarantees on the main roster. A case in point is Rhea Ripley. She hasn't done poorly, exactly - indeed she’s had some excellent matches - but her booking is a little peculiar, and now she’s lost the belt, the jury’s well and truly out.
Raquel Gonzalez would give creative a chance to right those wrongs. That’s not to say we should be giving up on Ripley, far from it, but another dominant figure in the women’s division would be a major boon.
Gonzalez is also something of a blank slate. She’s improving with every match, but has neither a long history in the business nor an especially defined character. Vince loves a wrestler he can build himself, and Raquel could be just the project for him, a towering figure with undeniable skill and upside, but plenty of room to grow further.
Raw and Smackdown’s women’s divisions can feel a little sparse beyond the world titles, so another performer of Gonzalez’s stature and aura - who works well in a tag team, too - could be just the thing to take it up a level.
