5 WWE NXT Wrestlers Ready For The Main Roster (And 5 Who Should Stay Put)

2. Call Up - Io Shirai

Io Shirai should head to the main roster without passing Go. She should be thrust straight into the spotlight, be given all the momentum in the world, and should be the best huge star on the women’s roster, because she’s simply that good.

When Shirai dropped the NXT Women’s Championship to Raquel Gonzalez a few months back, it seemed as though her time may have come. Instead, she took a well earned break before returning to capture the tag straps with Zoe Stark. As much potential as that team has, Shirai’s run with the division’s main belt showed precisely how much star power she possesses. Her time on the top was spectacular, and she sold herself as a dominant, destructive champ to perfection.

Shirai immediately wins people over with her excellent work rate and hugely entertaining move set (this is, lest we forget, the woman who moonsaulted off a cage with a bin on her head).

The main roster women’s division is chugging along nicely enough but needs more top talent, and it doesn’t get much better than Shirai. Call her up, Vince.
