Many have been pushing this theory for a long time now, but Rusev is a babyface in more ways than he is a heel. Look at the evidence; he is an incredible athlete with an excitingly athletic style, when he wins his matches he does it cleanly and he has pretty much been the only honest character in most of his storylines. WWE's acknowledgement of his engagement with Lana put a spanner in that last point, but up to until then he was the only one coming out of his summer mess with Dolph Ziggler with any integrity. As of right now, Rusev is spinning his wheels somewhat. Maybe this European stable with Barrett and Sheamus will lead somewhere, but there is almost an assumption that until Lana returns from her wrist injury Rusev is going to be doing a whole lot of nothing. When his fiancee does indeed return, this writer believes the two should embrace the good side, or at least be allowed to try it out. For a long time it seemed that Rusev was only a heel because AMERICA. This needs to end. Bulgarians can be cheered, too!
Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
