If you remember back to when Taker went from his "Deadman" persona to the "American Badass" gimmick, and he was first mentioned as being from anywhere other than "Death Valley", it was a stunning change. Watching him carry an American flag around just seemed weird, but he's a proud Texan, living there for his entire life, through every title won and WrestleMania victory.
