50 Best WWE Matches Of The 90s

20. Hulk Hogan Vs. The Ultimate Warrior (WrestleMania VI)

"The Ultimate Challenge" divided the fanbase among the WWF's most absolute superheroes, one time-tested and the other seeing how he could measure up. The brand-new Toronto SkyDome was the setting of this title-for-title match, Hogan's WWF gold vs. Warrior's Intercontinental, and it seemed that neither man was clearly the favorite. Hogan was approached by McMahon months earlier with the idea of 'passing the torch' to younger-blooded Warrior, and Hulk admirably carried the match along with a workmanlike pace. Both men shone bright, alternately hitting their big moves, and reeling from those of their opponent. When Warrior avoided the leg drop and crushed Hogan with his big splash, it seemed that a new age was dawning. The match was great, but it didn't supercharge a WWF that was fading from its eighties technicolor glory.

19. Bret Hart Vs. Mr. Perfect (King Of The Ring 1993)

Even better than their SummerSlam 1991 battle for the Intercontinental title. Hart and Perfect met in the semifinals of the 1993 King of the Ring tournament, both as babyfaces, with the winner advancing to wrestle Bam Bam Bigelow in the final. Both men copiously sold throughout the match, with Hart working Perfect's knee, and Hart selling his own knee injury, in addition to a hand injury (facilitated by Razor Ramon in the opening round). Perfect even resorted to some entries from his heel playbook, underscoring the importance of the tournament, and the desperation to win. Hart reversed a Perfect small package in securing the victory. Afterward, the two shook hands, like any good babyfaces would, en route to Hart's eventual crowning.
