In March 1988, a wrestling fan took Randy Savage to court after claiming he’d asked the wrestler to autograph his program but was body slammed onto the pavement instead. The suit included claims that Randy then said: ‘How’s that for an autograph, boy?’. It’s pretty difficult to find concrete information on any of this, but it also sounds totally ridiculous. The thought of ‘Macho Man’ getting out of his car to hit an actual wrestling move on a punter is far-fetched.

To add to the confusion, some reports recapping the alleged incident say it happened in 1986, not 1988. The suit was settled out of court regardless, and everybody moved on. This obviously wasn't something the WWF used on TV. 'Don't raise the ire of the Macho Man or he'll body slam you!'. It's still one of the most curious 'on the road' stories of the era though.

Sadly, Randy's death in 2011 means he's no longer around to set the record straight on whether he legitimately left his vehicle to have a wrestle on concrete. Lord only knows what Miss. Elizabeth's face would've been like had something of the sort ever happened. She probably wouldn't have thought her then-husband was the cream of the crop, let's be honest.

Kayfabe was dying out by the late-80s, but a lot of wrestlers still had an old school mentality around fans. Telling someone on the hunt for autographs to beat it is one thing though - hitting them with a move they'd see on Wrestling Challenge is another.
