50 Greatest WWE Raw Moments Ever

9. Split Screens (TIE) (June 9th, 2008/February 13th, 2017)

Shawn Michaels Chris Jericho Kevin Owens
WWE

A sly double-header here, but worthy of joint inclusion because of how one fed into another and both were borne of a segment that would come to epitomise the enhanced violence of the flagship.

When Shawn Michaels threw Marty Jannetty through Brutus Beefcake's barber shop window to infamously break up The Rockers, he set a new standard for splits between friends, and he was made to symbolically paid the price for his actions a decade and a half later when Chris Jericho kicked off their barbaric war by launching him into his 'Jeritron', eye-first.

It kickstarted WWE's best storyline of the year in 2008, but 'Y2J' should have been more mindful of the karmic punishment loaded within each shard of broken glass. He'd meet the same fate nearly ten years after that when Kevin Owens callously concluded the pair's 'Festival Of Friendship'. Yet again occurring in a barren creative time for the company, the joyous chaos of the segment was matched only by the unease surrounding 'KO's inevitable betrayal. That the duo chose the iconic conclusion was more than a love (hate?) letter to the past - it was a learning a experience Owens would do well to always heed.
