50 MMA Fights You Must Watch Before You Die

33. Conor McGregor Vs. Jose Aldo - UFC 194

One of the most shocking finishes in UFC history has to be when Conor McGregor annihilated Jose Aldo in 13 seconds and ripped the 145lb strap away from the legendary Brazilian fighter.

McGregor had taunted Aldo for months in the build-up to their fight and it clearly had an effect on the champion. Instead of the calm yet explosively violent Aldo who had destroyed a plethora of featherweight contenders, we saw a man who was a bundle of nervous energy standing inside the Octagon.

As soon as referee Big John McCarthy gave them the signal to fight, Aldo recklessly launched himself at McGregor in an attempt to finish him. However, McGregor ducked and dodged the attacks, before stepping in and landing the cleanest of left hooks to the champion's jaw.

Watching Aldo fall face-first onto the canvas is an iconic image that will be lodged in the memory of MMA fans forever. Not just because of how magnificent the finish was, but because it signalled the end of one of the most dominant title reign in MMA history.
