Eddie Guerrero had come into his own by 2004, and he got the opportunity to shine on the biggest stage of them all, defending his WWE Championship at WrestleMania 20 against Kurt Angle.

The two put on a clinic that night, with Eddie winning by unlacing his boot, which allowed him to slip out of Angle’s anklelock and then grabbing a small package for the pin.

Eddie and Kurt were masterful storytellers in the ring and didn’t need a lot of props or antics to keep the crowd engaged. This match is a perfect example of what wrestling can be when fans buy into both characters – even the one they’re supposed to hate.
