2. Capable of being both serious and comedic

3. A master of ring psychology

Cons:

1. Got lost in the shuffle

3. Had to deal with stupid storylines, like babysitting Eugene

Poor William Regal: no matter how much credit he's given for being a tough man, skilled wrestler, grizzled veteran, and wide trainer, he still ends up with either short-term or otherwise forgettable storylines. Maybe that's because he's a loyal man, or maybe it's because he spent some time in WCW, and wasn't a direct creation of Vince McMahon's. Either way, Regal reached his zenith during the Ruthless Aggression Era.

On one hand, he did win a lot of titles and awards during this period, including both singles and tag team championships. However, most of his reigns can be considered forgettable, and the storylines that people remember most are the ones in which he was being made a fool of. From the questionable pairing with Eugene, to screaming 'All Hail King Booker' ad infinitum, to being GM of RAW, Regal was often given gimmicks where his impressive wrestling ability wasn't used to its full capacity.

While Regal wasn't ever likely to reach the World Championship or main event level, he deserved more than being just a forgettable sidekick and face in the crowd for most of the Ruthless Aggression era.
