Pros:

1. Had major credibility as the guy who helped elevate future stars

2. Began having better and better matches

3. His mind games were awesome during this period

Cons:

1. Still had subpar feuds and matches on a regular basis

2. For some reason, WWE went back to the ‘bring in the giants’ philosophy again

3. Injuries started catching up with him

WWE’s most revered legend experienced both peaks and valleys during the Ruthless Aggression Era.

On the positive side, he enjoyed a lot of success, winning the WWE Championship again, winning the 2007 Royal Rumble match, winning the World Heavyweight Championship twice, and experiencing the shift of the Streak as this greater phenomenon. He also improved as a performer overall, putting on great matches and rivalries with the likes of Randy Orton, Batista, and Edge.

On the other hand, WWE returned to their old way of thinking for a time, pairing the Undertaker with more ‘big men’ to try and get them over, as if the Undertaker was this sort of magic device that instantly turned 300+ pounders into wrestling machines.

By the end of the Ruthless Aggression era, ‘Taker started slowing down. Sure, he was still having outstanding feuds and matches, but the signs of his impending retirement were already starting to show. One thing was for certain, however: ‘Taker being on SmackDown was one of the best things possible for the brand.
