50 Worst WCW Moments Ever

39. Oklahoma’s Debut

WCW Worst Moments nWo
WWE

One of the worst things about latter-day WCW was that it reeked of desperation. All the cool points earned between 1996-1999 thanks to the nWo were frittered away by clinging on to the WWF's coat-tails and trying to remain relevant in front of a shrinking audience.

Case in point: Tony Schiavone sort of pretending that Ed Ferrera's new Oklahoma character just might be WWF announcer Jim Ross on the 15 November 1999 Nitro. OK was shown walking backstage with 'Dr. Death' Steve Williams. Making things worse, Ed was mimicking/mocking JR's Bell's Palsy as he entered the building.

That didn't sit well with wrestling fans who had grown to idolise Ross.
