50 Worst Wrestling Moments Of The 2020s (So Far)
21. Let’s Be ‘Avin Ya!
Some people used to call it ‘All Friends Wrestling’ - an old joke premised on the idea that nepotism was rife in the promotion from day one. Brandon Cutler and Michael Nakazawa provided some genuinely amusing moments of comic relief, but come on. You know why they got the gig.
This stuff was so rife that Saraya, who was well-liked by Jon Moxley, somehow managed to get her useless brother in for a brief run. Jesus Christ. Bret Hart was the top star, and he couldn’t get Bruce into the WWF.
Zak Knight could do some super-indy moves, and that was about it. He nabbed some dates in the spring of 2024 as Tony Khan appeared to leave Rampage in the hands of whoever. Rampage of course was still “great” and Khan had “great” plans for it.
Zak Knight spent his days menacing Angelo Parker, who was involved in a romantic storyline with Ruby Soho. Knight played a football hooligan. His terrible attempts at intensity were laughable. He’d fly into blind rages, the red mist descending, but hadn’t completely lost it because he had to shoehorn his awful catchphrase in every single time. “Let’s be ‘avin ya!” Zak would shout. It’s almost cruel to laugh at the guy. He probably dreamed about putting that on a t-shirt and selling them by the warehouse.
This was his big break. Nobody was ‘avin it because he was doing Green Street as produced by Shawn Michaels.
