50 Worst Wrestling Moments Of The 2020s (So Far)

20. Tribal Combat

Jey Uso is not a good pro wrestler, at least not anymore.

He’s the Ultimate Warrior with a significantly less troublesome reputation. Everything he does looks bad, but the kids love him, and that’s far more important than the vocal adult hardcores are ever prepared to admit. An upper midcard guy who does jobs to the heel champ, surely, was his ceiling - and yeet, Jey was shockingly promoted to the role of World Heavyweight champion in 2025.

Did nobody in WWE watch WWE SummerSlam 2023?

The Premium Live Event was headlined by Roman Reigns Vs. Jey Uso in an endurance test of a ‘Tribal Combat’ match. Roman stalled so often that the feed practically buffered. Very, very little happened. For 20 minutes. Roman did monologues and chinlocks for as long as Bret Hart Vs. Steve Austin went. This was interminable. This was the basic Roman formula playing out to bored silence. Randy Orton would have told them to get on with it.

At the finish, after the mandatory tropes, in a post-peak nWo development of a swerve, Jimmy Uso turned on his brother. At this stage in the Bloodline saga, WWE was just doing stuff to keep it going. Jimmy said he did it to prevent Jey from being corrupted by the ula fala worn by Roman Reigns before siding with, yes, Roman Reigns.
