50 Worst Wrestling Moments Of The 2020s (So Far)

14. “Nobody Cares”

Britt Baker
AEW

You might be wondering where the Miz Vs. Shane McMahon match from WrestleMania 39 is on the list, but to remind you, it’s a run-down of the “Worst” wrestling moments of the decade so far, not “Best”.

Dr. Britt Baker’s run in AEW was as uneven as it gets. The extremes were incredible; she was responsible for some of the best and funniest character work in the promotion’s history, and one of the greatest matches, but was also prone to sloppy, disjointed performances and was outwardly toxic.

She was funny with it at times - picking up a shoot sandbag in a backstage promo with Thunder Rosa was hilarious - but also just extremely obnoxious.

On the November 13, 2024 Dynamite, Baker went over Penelope Ford in a match you’d think was amazing, to justify her attitude seconds after it ended (Cagematch inmates have it at 3.58 out of 10). Serenda Deeb came out to issue a silent challenge. Baker sprinted to the camera and said “Nobody cares. Nobody cares”.

She wasn’t exactly wrong - Deeb is the Erik Escobar of technically proficient wrestlers - but it’s Baker’s job to make people care. Or at least, it was.

This was totally counterproductive in and of itself, but it was also illustrative of AEW’s laissez-faire, do-what-you-like attitude. You can’t put that on TV!
