50 Worst WWE & TNA Moments Of 2014

8. $9.99

WWE overestimated how many people wanted to subscribe to their network. Yes, compared to paying $55 for a pay-per-view, it€™s a great deal. Compared to the average person, though, a service like Netflix is a much better deal. Netflix gives you thousands of quality movies as well as original series. The Network consists largely of Legends€™ House and old Saturday Night€™s Main Events. That€™s a very niche market the company is trying to appeal to. Over the course of months, WWE thought it would be cute to repeatedly say €œ$9.99€ over and over again to try to get more people to sign up. It actually wasn€™t cute at all. Instead the saying went from annoying, to so annoying you want to cancel your Network subscription purely out of spite. Commercials, a song and t-shirts were all produced to support this $9.99 theme. If WWE thought being obnoxious was a good way to sell their product, they were clearly wrong by the time the subscription numbers rolled in.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
