6 Match Star Ratings From WWE WrestleMania 40 Night 2

5. Bobby Lashley & The Street Profits Vs. The Final Testament - Philadelphia Street Fight

The Final Testsment Vs. Bobby Lashley and the Street Profits was a mess of a match.

Firstly, around half of the stadium couldn't see it. A beaming light blotted their eyes and, despite many very vocal requests, the production unit only dimmed it near the finish. Don't confuse the crowd reaction with heat generated by Karrion Kross or a pop that met his comeuppance. None of that happened. Fans didn't actually like the match, but they'd have preferred to have been able to see it than not. Watching the stream back, they didn't miss much - unless they get schadenfreude from messy, bad wrestling. After a generic heat sequence with kendo sticks set the tone of a bog-standard WWE plunder match, things unravelled. It was clunky more than it was botched to high heaven.

Very little was registered to dramatic effect. Even chaos has to breathe a little, and this didn't: it was a rushed, clunky and hardly violent match. Scarlett Bourdeaux barely got the time to draw heat before B-Fab neutralised her interference. Bubba Ray Dudley turned midway through the match and helped Lashey and the Street Profits through a table. The first one broke; it could only happen to Karrion Kross. Not good at all.

The ECW tribute is mandatory in Philadelphia, apparently, but you'd be better off venturing to the nearest shindie that can afford to pay the Sandman to do his entrance.

Star Rating: ★¼
