6 Most Insane Things Happening In Wrestling Right Now (Oct 20)

2. Forever Mahal

Though not quite as offensive as his racism drive ahead of Hell In A Cell, Jinder Mahal has completed the press rounds this week and, in doing so, has broken the already shattered hearts of WWE fans everywhere. To his credit, this was far better heel work than he’s shown on SmackDown.

In an interview with ESPN, he expressed a desire to turn babyface. He’s barely over as a heel. Nobody cares enough to jeer him, which is far easier to do than generate crowd support. He’s less over than the Great Khali is in India, which more or less says it all. This week’s SmackDown rating hit a five-month low, so it’s probably not a good idea to turn him face.

Jinder also, during a recent online Q&A, announced his intentions to hold on to his WWE Heavyweight Championship through and beyond WrestleMania 34. It already feels like his reign has raged on for several years, so what’s a few decades more? Jinder appeared deluded - but is savvier than that, unfortunately. He punched his ticket to New Orleans in an interview with the Times of India by proclaiming that he “idolises” Triple H. No sh*t. He should be carrying his b*stard bags.

To all U.S.-based readers: it must be difficult mustering any sort of enthusiasm when Jinder appears live. Since it doesn’t matter that his promos are met with the once-dreaded silent treatment, please can you exhume those chants of “Shut the f*ck up!”?
