6 NXT Tag Teams That Everybody Forgot About

2. The Beautiful Fierce Females (BFFs)

Emma's current shtick on Raw is insisting to anyone within earshot that she was the architect of the 'Women's Revolution'. She has a point, given that she, Paige and Summer Rae were the original foundations of the NXT Women's division, with Sasha Banks, Bayley and Charlotte beginning to establish themselves towards the end of 2013. Becky Lynch would arrive sometime later in mid-2014.

The Beautiful Fierce Females (BFFs) came about when Summer recruited Sasha, until that point a generic babyface, as her accomplice. They served as foils to Paige and Emma, and then to Bayley and Charlotte, before the latter joined their ranks. Summer then began appearing less thanks to her main roster commitments as Fandango's dance partner, leaving Charlotte and Sasha to take on their counterparts on countless occasions. The lack of depth in the division at the time homogenised things.

The cracks began to show following Charlotte's title win, culminating in her face turn as Sasha sought out a new partnership with Lynch instead. Alongside Bayley, the trio would then help to redefine women's wrestling throughout 2014 and 2015, setting the stage for their prominent roles on the main roster today.

None of the women's NXT alliances have ever been brought up since. Summer and Paige have both been missing in action for over a year, Emma is now largely a jobber, and the only main roster partnership of note has been and remains the one between Bayley and Sasha, which was never explored on the developmental brand.
