6 Positives And 4 Negatives Heading Into WWE Survivor Series 2016
7. Negative — Four-Hour Show
German-American architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe is often cited as providing us with the famous aphorism, “less is more.” Unfortunately, this is a memo that clearly didn’t reach WWE headquarters, as they continue to steer closer to the “bigger is better” school of thought.
You may be wondering what an earth I’m on about, but this is a segue into the news that Survivor Series, like many other major WWE PPVs, is now going to be a four-hour extravaganza.
First it was only WrestleMania that was afforded the extra hour, before SummerSlam soon got in on the act. Now, it appears that each of the Big Four shows are going to keep us Brits up until the early hours...
Don’t get me wrong, I love that they’re doing their best to make Survivor Series a big deal again. But personally I feel like there are better ways of doing that then simply adding an extra hour to the run-time. Plus, given that we currently have more PPVs than months on the calendar, not to mention a marathon three hours of Raw to slog through every week, bumping Survivor Series to four hours is verging on overkill in my book.
