One of the biggest announcements heading into this year’s Survivor Series was the news surrounding Brian Kendrick’s Cruiserweight Championship match with Kalisto. Not only is this an inter-promotional clash, and not only will the title be on the line, but the future of the entire Cruiserweight division will also hang in the balance.

If Kendrick wins, the Cruiserweights remain on Raw, whereas if Kalisto wins he’ll be bringing the boys with him to Tuesday nights. As far as game-changing stipulations go, they don’t get much bigger than that.

Of course, this news doesn’t simply benefit their Survivor Series match. As well as drastically raising the stakes for this Sunday, it could also be a big positive in the long-term. Many have already suggested that the Cruiserweights would be better off working on SmackDown, due to the brand’s smaller roster. Also, the fact that the new '205 Live' show will be broadcasting on Tuesdays suggests that logistically this move makes sense too.

Maybe I’m getting ahead of myself there—either way, in terms of Survivor Series alone, ramping up the risk like this will surely make this Sunday’s Cruiserweight Championship bout all the more exciting.
