On a similar note, if Bray Wyatt were to win in the Elimination Chamber, it would be the first major world championship win of his entire WWE career.

Not only does he very much deserve that accolade, having been on the main roster some three-and-a-half fruitless years now, but another positive of Wyatt as champion would be the further freshness that it brings to WrestleMania 33.

Having earlier mentioned that Wyatt vs. Orton would be far more welcome than another Cena vs. Orton rehash, the added context of Wyatt enjoying his first reign as champion would provide yet another novel element. Plus, it could be argued that with round three of Goldberg vs Brock Lesnar headlining Raw’s side of the card, freshness is something that the SmackDown main event could really do with to avoid the WrestleMania card getting too stale.

Granted, Baron Corbin would be another first-time champion should he win at Elimination Chamber. Unlike Wyatt, though, he’s without a meaningful backstory heading into ‘Mania, and therefore a much less appealing option.
