6 Reasons Why Baron Corbin Isn't Ready To Be WWE Champion

4. He Can't Follow Another Heel Champion

Despite reports that WWE feel Jinder Mahal isn't connecting with fans back in India, it'd be a shame to see the company abandon his title reign suddenly. WWE have an upcoming tour of the Indian market in September, so it'd make sense to keep Mahal as champion until after those shows. Besides, following one heel champ with another seems boring.

Mahal's whole act is built on a mix of xenophobia and sneering superiority. Whilst Corbin obviously wouldn't yak on about hating America, he would exhibit the same kind of arrogance as Jinder. In other words, it's more of the same, just packaged up in a slightly different way. Is that really what people want to see for SmackDown during the closing months of 2017?

Following Mahal's heel run, people deserve a break from villainous champions for a while. The idea that WWE would give up on Jinder and replace him with Corbin would send Mahal back to square one too, thus rendering his experimental reign as champion pointless.
