5. He Wasn't Booked Like A Strong Champion
While Rollins had a 221 day WWE Title reign, he really wasn't booked like a strong champion. Some of his early title defences saw the likes of Kane help him to beat Randy Orton. He barely won against Dean Ambrose, which made it look like a fluke victory. When he defended the WWE Title against Brock Lesnar, the match didn't even end. It just stopped when The Undertaker showed up and Lesnar never got another title shot even though he should have. After that, Rollins needed comedian Jon Stewart's help to beat John Cena at SummerSlam, which was pretty ridiculous when you think about it. Rollins was able to beat the likes of Sting and Kane because they were just older wrestlers putting over a younger star with nobody really buying into either of them as WWE Champion at this point in their careers. Then there are all the non-title losses he suffered. Rollins was pinned in so many single and tag matches that it became the thing that fans complained about more than anything. Why should we care about a champion if he loses so much? WWE's point of view was that it makes people believe he could lose at any time, but what it does more than anything is make the champion look like a loser. If Rollins had been booked stronger then his injury would really hurt the title picture. Since he was booked as a weak champion for the most part, his loss isn't as great as it may seem in terms of the WWE Title.
