6 Reasons Why WWE Needs An Off-Season

4. NXT & Developmental Talent Would Benefit

WWE BACK SOON

Let’s face it; there are talents currently on Raw and Smackdown from NXT that may have been pushed to the big time a little too early - Apollo Crews, Nia Jax, Baron Corbin, Dana Brooke to name just a few.

If Raw and Smackdown took a break that would leave approximately a 10-12 week gap, that doesn’t mean talents in NXT still aren’t training to become the next WrestleMania headliner. NXT can still definitely run on a weekly basis, and hell, it could even turn into a two hour show while the flagship shows are on break.

This pushes more attention to the NXT brand, more attention to NXT talent, and more importantly, gives future superstars time to develop when all eyes would be on them during a season break. It also leaves open the opportunity for Raw and Smackdown stars to make random appearances on NXT shows just to keep themselves fresh.

Just imagine if Seth Rollins dropped by to face Shinsuke Nakamura on an episode of NXT, or if Sasha Banks made an appearance to challenge Asuka. The roof of Full Sail University would damn near fly off.
