6 Reasons Women's Money In The Bank Ladder Match Must Happen This Year

3. The Pay-Per-View Needs It

This will be the first Money in the Bank pay-per-view of the new brand split era, and the line-up is already looking somewhat shaky. The men's Money in the Bank match is absolutely stacked, as four of the best in the world (plus Dolph Ziggler and Baron Corbin) collide in what could well be the greatest Money in the Bank ladder match yet.

The rest of the card doesn't inspire much excitement however. SmackDown has an experimental champion on top in the shape of Jinder Mahal and an utterly uninspired number one contender in Randy Orton. The Usos will bring some energy to the undercard, but what else can we expect? Mojo Rawley vs. Erick Rowan? Tye Dillinger vs. Viktor?

The relative lack of depth on the Money in the Bank pay-per-view card means the time is clearly right for the women to take centre-stage. There is no chance of the match being overshadowed by the rest of the card, and the bout would surely get the attention it deserves. The show could be a rather long night without it.
