When trawling through reports from both The Wrestling Observer and PWTorch over the past year, it'd be impossible not to spot the number of times Big Cass was linked to something negative. Perhaps his WWE release shouldn't come as a huge surprise when Wade Keller often wrote of others backstage telling him about the man's "maturity issues".

Keller even made sure to mention this in his news write-up of Cass' contract termination.

Behind the scenes, frustration was growing with Cass. The general feeling was that, once he was pushed on his own and removed from Enzo Amore's own heat-seeking ways, Cass would mature and become an important part of the roster. Over the past few months, Keller suggests WWE started to realise that wouldn't happen.

At 30 years old, Cass needed to start showing WWE that he could be trusted to act responsibly, represent the company properly and carry the weight of expectation that comes with a major spot on programming. He hadn't been able to do that.
