The Miz may well go down as one of professional wrestling's most unlikely success stories. At every step of his career doubters have had a field day with him, and he has repeatedly proved them wrong. He was a reality TV star, a coward, and the clearest Jannetty of the modern era, yet he went on to main event WrestleMania and win countless championships along the way.

Mr. Mizanin truly rose to prominence in 2010 as the United States Champion, and it was whilst holding this championship that The Miz claimed the RAW Money in the Bank briefcase. The former Real World star had a date with destiny but that date wasn't going to allow him to show up with a date already around his waist.

The United States Championship had to go and luckily there was a ready-made replacement. The Miz's relationship with his NXT rookie Daniel Bryan had been one of the stories of the first season of the show, and with Bryan back in WWE following tie-gate, the stage was set for The Miz to drop the title.

Bryan took the stars-and-stripes strap from The Miz at Night of Champions '10, and just two months later The Miz was on top of the pro wrestling world.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
