6 UFC Opponents Conor McGregor Will Probably Face Next
4. Khabib Nurmagomedov
The personal conflict between Nurmagomedov and McGregor is one of the most heated ones in recent sports history. After a crushing loss to the Dagestani fighter, there is little doubt that Connor has his sights on revenge via a rematch. But all is not so simple. The fight would definitely bring in a GDP of a small country in terms of money, but Khabib doesn't rush to give McGregor a rematch. The current champion doesn't see the Irish fighter deserving of a title shot coming off such a long layoff with just one win. McGregor also is in no hurry to do the weight cut any time soon and Nurmagomedov isn't going up the weight class either.
Now, after such a decisive win, the talks about the rematch are back among the fans, and Connor does nothing to quell them, confirming that he still wants it. Unfortunately, Khabib is fighting Tony Ferguson next and will probably need to take a break after that, so that postpones the rematch even further.
However, there is still a chance we'll get the rematch sooner if Ferguson can't make it for some reason, and he has a history of not making it to the fight with Khabib (four in a row already). Dana White has already confirmed that McGregor replacing Ferguson if something goes wrong is something he is looking at.
