6 Ups & 0 Downs From AEW Rampage: Championship Friday (June 2)

Time for someone to eat humble pie yet again.

This Rampage review series has sometimes been sprinkled with bitch after bitch about non-AEW belts being defended on All Elite programming. Whilst it is true that many matches don't cut it or make that third-party stuff worthwhile, all four presented on Friday night definitely did. Only a fool would argue with the quality on offer.

Every single match had something unique to say, and they were all given enough time to kick into a higher gear. Also, and this isn't something that happens weekly, the ad breaks didn't knacker proceedings. Perhaps that's because there wasn't one unnecessary short squash in sight on the hour-long broadcast.

This is the kind of thrilling, competitive and superb professional wrestling that Tony Khan's promotion is capable of gifting to fans. Was it a night of earth-shattering title switches and surprises? Hell no, but it was still must-see from a nuts and bolts perspective.

You've got to sit back and admire variety when it's this good.
