6 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Rampage (April 8)

Down...

1. Worrying Signs

Sammy Guevara Tay Conti
AEW

Let's get this out of the way, because it defo feels nitpicky.

Fans seemed to be more into Dan Lambert, Ethan Page and Scorpio Sky than Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti. Last week, the young lovers trashed Lambert's car and painted "Be Mad" on it for everyone to see. Here, Guevara and Conti struggled to follow up on that with anything crowd-pleasing.

Everybody involved did well enough on the mic, and the digs at "sexist" Dan and Tay's dress sense did elicit some noise from the stands, but AEW must be careful - they definitely don't want Guevara and Conti to get booed, and they were verging on that during this skit.

That's worrying. They're being presented as the clear heroes of the piece, and yet you wouldn't really know that if you were tuning into All Elite telly for the first time and listened to the fans. Sammy and Tay might want to dial back on this 'in your face' loving for a bit.
