6 Ups & 1 Down From WWE SmackDown (24 Oct - Results & Review)

Multiple fab matches and a hot heel turn on an excellent episode of WWE SmackDown.

Cody Rhodes Drew McIntyre Claymore Kick

Will Drew McIntyre slam Cody Rhodes with another Claymore Kick at Saturday Night's Main Event and finally reclaim elusive glory as WWE Champion? That remains to be seen, but the hardworking Scot sure deserves something. He also can't keep being Triple H's go to bridesmaid in big title bouts, and it's fair to say that SNME could use something massive to help sell the idea that anything can happen on these specials.

There was a chaotic atmosphere pinning down this week's edition of SmackDown. Jacob Fatu was laid out in an effective angle on last week's show, and that led into a fun 'No DQ' main event here. Away from the headline scene, Jade Cargill also went heel for the first time since joining WWE in late-2023, Ilja Dragunov kept the spirit of the past few months going, and Kiana James managed to show everyone backstage what she's capable of.

In short, this was a tidy episode of blue brand action.

Even the solitary 'Down' on offer struggles to be negative, and that really speaks volumes about how tightly-formatted SmackDown was. Congrats, Arizona - you got to witness several cracking matches, a potentially-championship deciding turn, some new tag contenders simmering away, and Drew getting his back all sliced up by a vengeful Jimmy Uso.

All anyone is really looking for from the weeklies? WWE motoring stories forwards whilst putting on some watchable matches. SmackDown did that well, so it was a solid 2 hours of telly to sit down with. There was a nice energy and tempo to things. Defo check it out even if you're the sort who usually watches YouTube highlights or reads recaps.

Here's the review.
