6 Ups & 1 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (Jan 31)

3. How To Get Over

Prior to last night's return, NXT had hyped TM-61's comeback with a short series of well-produced video packages, highlighting everything that had brought them to WWE in the first place, as well as Shane Thorne's recovery. They were fantastic, but we wouldn't be able to gauge their success until the duo actually returned to the ring, which came last night.

It looks like the packages did their job. Miller and Thorne received a tremendous reception from the Philly crowd, who were firmly in their corner. Granted, the audience were loud throughout Royal Rumble weekend, but it's hard to imagine the Aussies getting this kind of reaction without the videos, as they were but a mid-tier team prior to Thorne's injury.

This begs of the question of why WWE don't utilise similar packages on the main roster, as TM-61's success, coupled with Roderick Strong's last year, proves them a valuable tool in getting wrestlers over. There's no evidence to suggest it wouldn't work on Raw and SmackDown, particularly given WWE's inability to build support for struggling performers. Surely it's got to be worth a shot?
