6 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Rampage (11 May - Results & Review)

3. Adam Copeland’s Bloody Blip

On that note...this.

Rampage opened with Adam Copeland raising Kyle O'Reilly's hand after their fabulous Collision main event. Then, something flipped in the TNT Champ; he started bleeding from the mouth before refusing to let Kyle's hand go. O'Reilly smacked him away and asked what the deal was, but Cope had no response.

The would-be friends had an intense staredown moment, and Adam himself visibly wondered what the hell had gotten into him. It's Malakai Black's influence, presumably. Tony Schiavone opined that working so hard and defending his title so much had worn Copeland down. Fair enough, if so.

Being honest, the tail end of Collision could've used this moment under normal circumstances, but it was pretty clever of AEW to hold it back for the first 90 seconds of Rampage this time. Fingers crossed more people pick up on that formatting and decide to stick around during future three-hour blocks to see what might happen.
