6 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Rampage (April 14)

4. Maybe This Time They’ll Stick!

Aussie Open AEW
AEW

Aussie Open turned some heads by delivering good performances alongside Will Ospreay first time around in AEW, but then they disappeared to jet back off to New Japan. They've since become IWGP Tag-Team Champs, and returned to defend those belts vs. Trent Beretta and Chuck Taylor on Rampage.

Dodgy reffing aside, it was a winner.

Mark Davis and Kyle Fletcher got good reactions for everything they did from the live crowd, and they should be useful on shows like Forbidden Door and All In that have international flavour. Tony Khan's deal with NJPW meant that Excalibur had to harp on about a match vs. TMDK on 29 April over in Japan, but that didn't wreck the flow of this bout or anything.

Fingers crossed Aussie Opens sticks on All Elite long-term. They've come a long way since early days on the UK indy circuit, and could be in the frame for an AEW Tag Title reign someday. Those crowd-pleasing moments on Friday must've caught TK's eye.
