6 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Rampage (Feb 25)
Ups...
6. Nice Use Of Hook
Something better is brewing with Hook.
Yes, the insane hype following his first few squashes has died down a little, but crowds are still into the thought of seeing Taz's boy cave some skulls in. This week, QT Marshall came out to get in Taz's face (which thankfully didn't lead to him becoming "just another victim") and call out his son.
Hook obliged, and hit a series of different moves on some of QT's students. This was a nice way to shake things up and make Hook look like a killer without having him work yet another short match. Yours truly isn't so sure Marshall is the right foe for him long-term, but it'll be fine so long as AEW get to the head-on confrontation soon.
A lot of this stuff has been taking place on Rampage too, so Tony Khan should go out of his way to make sure Hook vs. QT actually ends on the Friday night show. The story can be considered a success if QT bumps around then eats the youngster's finish for a quick submission win when it counts.
