6 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Rampage (Feb 25)

2. A Solid Main

Anthony Bowens Orange Cassidy
AEW

Was Orange Cassidy vs. Anthony Bowens the best match on the show? No, not even close. Did anybody believe that The Acclaimed man was leaving with his hand raised and going onto that 'Face Of The Revolution' ladder match? Nah, not really. So, why is this one firmly planted in the 'Ups' section?

Solid is good enough. That's why.

Yes, it does seem like some of Cassidy's fire has died down lately, but he's still popular enough to make this sort of match work. Special mention to Bowens for playing the big powerhouse who was willing to then sell his ass off for Orange's comeback late on. He's come on leaps and bounds in-ring.

The headliner, whilst definitely nowhere near as good as Sammy vs. Andrade, was a crowd-pleaser. People enjoyed Danhausen's latest cameo appearance too, and there could be something in seeing the face-painted newcomer buddying up with Orange going forwards.
