6 Ups & 2 Downs From Last Night's NXT (5 March)

NXT

If opening the show with a red-hot opening banger featuring two women who are in the midst of a believable and engaging feud wasn't enough, NXT rolled on with a great video package hyping Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair's WrestleMania Match. If all that wasn't enough, we returned from the intermission to Shotzi Blackheart vs Chelsea Green, in the first qualifying match of this women's division quasi-tournament.

They can't do it, obviously, but if WWE wanted to just bin this whole project off and start their own version of Stardom they absolutely could at this stage. A division that actually feels well layered from top to bottom, with clear paths for people to get from one end to the other, and a title picture that's arguably the most competitive in the entire company.

Green vs Blackheart wasn't anything to write home about, but both women came in with momentum, interest, and no obvious winner. In the end, it was Green who'll advance to the next round and her opponent who'll be forced to start again. It's simple, but it's how a division should work.
