3. Like Husband, Like Wife

The Knockouts Championship match between champion Taya Valkyrie and challenger Jordynne Grace was a highly enjoyable contest between two of the greatest talents in Impact right now. It’s the ending and aftermath that made it that extra bit enjoyable.

With Valkyrie seemingly suffering some sort of injury, Johnny Impact rushed to ringside to check on his wife, resulting in her getting counted out to cling on to her title. Was it a genuine injury or was Taya just weaselling her way out of a title match? Best bet is to go with the latter option. It’s what we’ve seen from both Impact and Valkyrie in recent weeks, doing anything to hang on to their respective championships.

It continued post-match, with Johnny desperately trying to evade an angered Brian Cage who had charged to ringside. The booking of these champions has been absolutely superb in recent weeks. It may seem as if they’re just another two champs willing to do anything to remain champions, but there’s just a different feel to it. All smiles from this writer.
