6 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE SmackDown (24 May - Results & Review)

1. Logan Paul Gets Caught Lying

Cody has some business to take care of vs. Logan Paul first.

The champ called LP's bluff by getting an official to check he didn't bring a back up set of brass knuckles to the ring with him. Previously, Paul had made a big song and dance about handing his knuckles to Michael Cole (of all people) at the weekend's press conference. Cody sniffed out his deceit.

That was welcome, 'cause Rhodes sort of looked like a t*t by blindly walking into AJ Styles' Bullet Club trap pre-Backlash. It also turned out that Logan did have another set of dusters on him, a reveal Cody then used as a symbolic stick to beat him with by saying the "YouTuber cosplaying wrestler" would never be on his level acting this way.

SmackDown saw simple heel work from Paul, and to-the-point promo'ing from Rhodes. Nothing was too fancy, but it didn't need to be. The segment scores an 'Up' for smart simplicity and execution. Paul isn't fantastic on the mic in front of crowds yet, but he played his shady dirtbag role well enough.
