6 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE SmackDown (6 Sept - Results & Review)

5. Giving The Tiebreaker Some Stakes

It was fairly obvious that the winner of a series between Carmelo Hayes and Andrade would get a crack at LA Knight's United States Title before Friday, but WWE thought clarifying would be smart. They were correct. Melo and 'El Idolo' are locked at 2-2, so now their rubber match has some high stakes.

Win out, and they'll get Knight on PLE.

This upped the ante immediately. The promos from all involved were standard stuff and didn't go beyond average, but LA's charisma powered things along just enough anyway. All three got the job done, and it's hard to argue with that. Now, Triple H has to decide who he wants vs. Knight at Bad Blood.

Here's hoping they don't pick the lazy option and go with a three-way, because Hayes vs. Andrade deserves a clear winner who moves into the title picture with a bit of steam. If they draw the final clash, then neither feels worthy of challenging. Simple as that. Be careful, WWE. You've managed to turn this into a good thing, so don't ruin it now!
