This Sunday's Royal Rumble card (if you include the Rumble matches themselves) will feature no less than four gimmick bouts. Of them, the 'Falls Count Anywhere' brawl between Roman Reigns and 'King' Corbin seemed like the most pointless going in before this week's SmackDown.

WWE knew that, and that's why they tried to add some spice to it on Friday night.

For what it was, Reigns thrashing Corbin with rubbish bins and knotting his skull with some stiff punches looked good. It conveniently managed to get either man out of being involved in the end of the six-man tag match too.

Previews are everything in wrestling. By teasing what was to come in Houston, WWE successfully added some taste to Reigns vs. Corbin and put emphasis on how dangerous their match could be. Notably, Roman also got the upper hand over his regal foe. Remember that come Sunday, because telegraph booking is also everything to this company.
