6 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE SmackDown (March 1 - Results & Review)

The Rock just acknowledged Roman Reigns and made a HUGE WrestleMania 40 challenge.

Roman Reigns wore the expression of a man who knows how this ends.

The WWE kingpin's facials were stellar on this week's episode of SmackDown, but he did get what he wanted in the end. Fans were shocked as The Rock acknowledged Reigns as his 'Tribal Chief' after firing out a big time tag-team challenge to both Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins for night one at WrestleMania 40.

That wasn't the only 'Mania magic Triple H was stirring up on Friday night. Rey Mysterio returned, Dakota Kai stabbed Bayley in the back, LA Knight cut some energetic promos behind the curtain, and it looks like Randy Orton won't be going one-on-one with Logan Paul in Philadelphia after all - someone else (re)joined the chat.

Not everything WWE booked on SmackDown was flawless, but man...you can feel the energy on programming at the moment. Elimination Chamber was a functional PLE, and the final hurdle for creative before fully focusing on Philly. Sit tight, people, because things are only going to get even better from here.

Here's all the great and not a lot of guff from SmackDown.
