6 Ups & 3 Downs For AEW Collision (April 13 - Results & Review)

Ups...

6. A Fun Opener

AEW Collision Action Andretti Brody King Dante Martin
AEW

Opening this week's AEW Collision was an extremely solid backstage promo from Claudio Castagnoli and Bryan Danielson, and it was left to House of Black, Dante Martin, Action Andretti, and Matt Sydal to kick off the in-ring action of this latest episode.

Sure, there were a few moments where one had to yet again question the refereeing - a sadly common Rick Knox problem - but this 15-minute opener was a fun, lively contest that very much had the Truist Arena invested in it.

There was the usual intense House of Black offense, with Body King in particular working like an absolute beast (as per!), and the match was nicely constructed in terms of how it built to its frantic final few minutes. Those final few minutes culminated with a King cannonball and a couple of dropkicks from Malakai Black and Buddy Matthews to score the win for HOB, and that win managed to be a dominant outing for House of Black ahead of their upcoming Dynasty bout against Adam Copeland, Eddie Kingston, and Mark Briscoe, while also giving Martin, Andretti, and Sydal enough brief moments to shine with their typical high-flying, energetic attacks.

Standard stuff, but effective enough.
